5 Things to Know About Outdoor Kitchen Plans

There's nothing like the marvelous sights and lingering aromas of pizzas, pies, pastas and meat on a cool and breezy summer evening. Throw in some intoxicating wine and the animated chatter of close friends, and it's almost like an unforgettable indulgence for life's most precious moments.

If all this reads like some kind of apocryphal story, you better get set to invert that parochial view. With practical and perfectly functional outdoor kitchen plans, you can enjoy a unique sensory experience like none other.

Their Profile Is Rising

The best part of outdoor kitchens is their remarkable ability to break free from the shackles of conventionality and create a space that is refreshingly different. No more sweating it out alone in front of a hot oven in a claustrophobic work area when you can have boisterous friends and their banter to add spice to the proceedings. What's more, an outdoor kitchen also sends the value of your property soaring.

Essential Spadework

Before you embark on this daunting mission, it's important to do your homework well. Here's how to plan without hitting a false note:

Be absolutely clear about the kind of wherewithal your plans will require. While a small counter with a grill may cost you about $2,000 or so, an avant-garde version will need you to shell out nothing less than $30,000.
The size of your dream kitchen will depend on the space available for it. A barbeque will occupy centre stage, closely followed by a high-quality grill, a compact wood burning oven and a refrigerator with a freezer.
An outdoor kitchen must be constructed as close as possible to the indoor kitchen.
Brilliant lighting must be one of the highlights of this space. An investment in solar lighting is sure to have a cosmic significance.
Above all, make sure the kitchen is a true reflection of your innate personality. The design must be a manifestation of your needs, desires and your limitations.

It's time to celebrate the enduring magic of the great outdoors for eternity.

An Outdoor Kitchen Concept Can Be Cost Effective

Most people are looking for ways to improve the look and usability of their backyards. Sometimes the major obstacle to getting the backyard of your dreams Is the expense. Landscaping and the upkeep can be an unfor3eseen expense when purchasing a home. That is why so many people never get around to improving their backyard. The good news is that with some research and diligence on your part, you may be able to improve your backyard by adding an outdoor kitchen. You may even find that an outdoor kitchen is less expensive than hiring a landscaper.

Outdoor kitchens have become very popular recently and it is no wonder why. Not only does an outdoor kitchen enhance the look of your home and add value to your property. They also are a lot of fun. It is very enjoyable to invite people over and entertain in your yard while everyone enjoys the outdoors in a comfortable setting. Just imagine grilling up juicy steaks or tasty ribs as you and your company enjoy a soft, summer night. Once youve started using an outdoor kitchen you will wonder why you ever waited.

Another aspect to keep in mind when deciding if you can afford to build an outdoor kitchen is that it will add value to your property. Depending on where you live this can add significant value to your home. Sometimes for every dollar you spend on improving your home you can get two dollars back. Therefore if you spend ten thousand on an outdoor kitchen it may increase the value of your home by twenty thousand if you ever sell. Of course this will all depend on where you live and what the housing market is when you sell.

To decide what kind of outdoor kitchen concept you want, become familiar with your choices. The Internet is a good way to begin your search. There are many companies that provide plans for outdoor kitchens. Some websites have the capability to let you design your own kitchen. This works as a virtual kitchen plan and will allow you to get a good look at what your kitchen will actually look like. This is a great idea and I highly recommend it because so many people have a hard time visualizing concepts unless they can actually see them.

Another great thing to do is visit some houses that have an outdoor kitchen area. Make your own observations. Take note of features you like or dislike. This is also a good way to get referrals for a good contractor or a building supply company where you may be able to purchase supplies for your kitchen at a discount.

In closing, dont discount adding an outdoor kitchen to your backyard, it is a wise investment and may not be as expensive as you think. Just do your homework!

How To Get Ideas From Kitchen Magazines

Today we are bombarded with ideas and designs of all types for new kitchens. Making use of a free kitchen catalogue collection is a great way to ensure you are choosing your next kitchen from the best possible designs available.

To start with you want to obtain as many pictures of kitchens as possible from free kitchen catalogues and then put them together to see what designs you find most appealing.

You will soon find out that each element of your kitchen has a style of its own. But it is the collective look that determines the overall theme of your kitchen. The colors, the style of furniture, the cabinetry and the lighting all contribute.

You need to be aware that the most powerful element in your kitchen is the cabinetry. It basically defines the overall look of your kitchen and is central to the overall theme.

Be aware that once you choose the kitchen cabinets they are pretty much an immovable object, unless you demolish the whole kitchen of course. You need to ensure that your research is thorough in this area.

Here are some popular styles for you to look out for in your free kitchen catalogue:

Arts and crafts: becoming more and more popular this look is typified by glass doors, natural wood tones with a matte sheen are used.

Shaker: a style of purity and simplicity featuring flat panel doors, wood counter tops and brass hardware pieces. A free kitchen catalogue will probably show you simple furniture designs with clear, crisp lines.

French Country: If you have ever seen pictures of french country kitchens then you will know that there are very busy with a great range of natural materials. There tends to be large pieces of furniture made from light colored woods sporting ornate carvings.

When it comes to choosing kitchens you will need all the help you can get. You will need something to help you scope out your ideas and bring them to fruition.

I would recommend using some planning software and a free kitchen catalogue.

Good planning software allows you to design your new room on your computer which of course, means you can move things around very easily to get a better visual interpretation than with a free kitchen catalogue alone.

7 Tips on Painting Kitchen Cabinets

Any idea about faux painting for kitchen cabinets? asked my friend, while summing up my cooking talents in the rather stolid environs of my kitchen. Quite honestly, it sounded like some cryptic terminology on a TV show that invariably bounces off the viewer's consciousness. Be it faux painting or even painting fake wood kitchen cabinets, I didn't have the faintest clue. For someone who faced a complete drought of ideas while painting kitchen cabinets during the kitchen remodeling project, it was not a wee bit surprising that I suggested that painting kitchen cabinets white would create a stunning impact. If you belong to the class of embarrassing ignoramuses like me, it's high time you understand the concept of painting kitchen cabinets in the right perspective.

Paint your way to happiness

There are no binary perceptions about the fact that painting kitchen cabinets is the perfect way to breathe life into them, considering that both replacement and even refacing worn out kitchen cabinets burn a hole in your pockets. A paltry sum of a little over $1000 and an indomitable will is all that is needed to make your kitchen cabinets look simply stunning. Here are a few tips before you embark on your colorful project:

* Prior to beginning the painting job, make sure the kitchen cabinets are devoid of all nails and screws. All the hardware must be stored in a secure place for future use.

* Wipe off every speck of dust, dirt and grime off the surface of the kitchen cabinets. The surface must be squeaky clean and absolutely dry before painting.

* Don't forget to use a primer sealer on the surface.

* If a fabulous finish is high on your priority list, then it makes sense to invest in a good quality paint brush.

* Wood cabinets are sure to come alive with just a few coats of enamel based oil paint. Hi-gloss or even semi-gloss paints are no less.

* Painting kitchen cabinets is not something that can be done in a tearing hurry. Make sure this is a weekend project and devote ample time to it. You'll need at least 2-3 coats of paint for that stunning finish.

* Glazing is another popularly used technique to bring to the fore the apparent magnificence of wood kitchen cabinets.

Ideas that last a lifetime

If you find it hard to get those creative juices flowing, there's no reason to eschew your plans of painting kitchen cabinets. In fact, there are scores of sites on the Internet that are flooded with innovative ideas of painting kitchen cabinets. Be it wood, metal or laminate kitchen cabinets, painting them was never so much fun.

If you want your kitchen to spring back to life, then it's high time you embrace the concept of painting kitchen cabinets. It's sure to be an insightful experience.

First you need to decide if this will be a kitchen remodeling project with a strict low budget or is it going to be the best kitchen your money will buy. If budget is concerned then you can find some great kitchen remodeling ideas at your local home improvement center to get started. Where Do You Get Kitchen Remodeling Ideas?

Some of the best ideas for your kitchen can come from visiting an open house or street of dream home tour. Many nicer neighborhoods will have open houses of the more exclusive homes. You will find these types of tours near larger cities. Take a note pad and a camera with you and start looking at the new creative ideas. If your kitchen remodeling project is going to be designed around creating a dream kitchen then you can start by adding a center island with a sink and granite countertops. Then add a new kitchen sink and a deluxe faucet system. If that is not enough you could extend the kitchen to add a walk in pantry.

Keeping Your Kitchen Clean

Kitchen is one place in your house which has to be kept very clean and hygienic. But, it is a place that becomes dirty and messy very fast. Maintaining a kitchen is the most difficult task which any woman faces. Here are some quick tips to keep your kitchen clean.

- The more you wash your utensils, the more used utensils will fall in the sink to be washed, so never keep your sink full of utensils. As and when you use a vessel wash it immediately and put it back in its place. If you have a maid who does the chore for you, ask her to first finish the job and then do anything else, if not put all the vessels in a big basket or tub and keep it outside the house. So, that your maid can do the job later.

- As the saying goes, Everything in its place and a place for everything. Keep dedicated places for all your kitchen items. After you use them, keep them in their respective places immediately.

- To avoid stinks from your garbage bin, add some lemon peels or lemon pieces in it. Another thing what you can do is, put a polythene bag inside the bin and throw all the waste in the bag. So that you can easily discard the bag without having to put your hand in it, which can be disgusting at times.

- Cleaning a mixer or blender is always a difficult task. So what you can do is squirt a few drops of liquid soap and fill the jar with some warm water. Don't fill it fully, just half will do, then run the mixer, and then you, yourself can see the difference.

- If you don't want a foul smell from your fridge. Clean your fridge at least once a week. Discard all the packaged and bottled food which has crossed the expiry date. Place an open box of baking soda in the back of the fridge to soak in the smell.

- When you are mopping the floor, don't blindly use any local disinfectant, because it can create toxic fumes, which can harm our respiratory organs, especially when you have children at home. So it's ok, if you pay a few bucks more to keep your family healthy.

Although cleaning the kitchen is time consuming, but if you do it everyday the job becomes very easy.

Up date Your Kitchen in a Weekend for $100 or Less

Updating your kitchen doesn't have to involve ripping out old stuff and replacing with new. A few coats of paint can do wonders for a dreary kitchen. Cabinets or counter tops that look dated or just plain boring can be transformed in weekend to give your kitchen a much needed update for $100 or less.

Paint is the easiest and fastest way to change the looks of a room and paint will make your kitchen look like new. Cabinets doors can be painted in solid colors or a faux finish, sponge or rag painted, stenciled or decoupaged. Doors will need to be removed, as well as all hardware and pulls. If you're not replacing the old hinges, clean them well and paint with spray enamel. Use a good degreaser to clean the doors, let dry, then sand lightly. Apply a primer, let dry, sand lightly and wipe off any dust, then finish in your chosen color. Cost for this project will depend on how many cabinets you have but a $20-25 gallon of paint will go a long way. Primer will be about the same price as paint.

Add new pulls to go with the new look. Hardware and pulls start at about a dollar for unfinished to $15 or more for specialty designs and finishes. You might consider choosing these before deciding on the cabinet color. Be certain to measure the distance between holes for drawer handles to get the proper size because handles are not created equal.

If your counter top is worn and battered and replacement costs are not in the budget, laminate can be painted to brighten it up and add to the new look in your kitchen. The countertop should be prepared the same way as the cabinet doors. If there are serious chips or gouges, use a good wood filler, then sand again. Apply an oil based primer and allow to dry overnight. Apply the oil based topcoat, let it dry, sand lightly and wipe off dust, then apply second a second coat of paint. If you plan to do any faux finishes, such as marble or wood, this is the time to do it. Allow the surface to dry overnight, then seal with oil based polyurethane. Oil based primers and paints may cost slightly more than water based.

Add a border to the top of the wall, at chair rail height, or under the cabinets. Borders come in all price ranges and with hundreds of patterns to choose from, there is one that will enhance the new look you want to create. For a distinctive look, borders that have a curved or scalloped bottom edge can be applied upside down, with the scallop at the top.

Before starting any project, be sure to have all tools and supplies on hand. For the projects mentioned here, you'll need degreaser or another cleaning solution, a bucket, paint brushes, rags, sandpaper, a drop cloth to keep paint off floors, and a screwdriver.

A few tips to keep in mind:
*Give yourself enough time to do the job properly.
*Allow each coat of paint or other finish to dry thoroughly.
*Open windows for ventilation when using oil based products.
*Follow the specific directions for use and clean-up for each product you use.
*Cabinet doors will fit best if they are put back on the same cabinet they were removed from.
*A cutting board will protect your newly painted counter top from nicks and gouges.

Get Creative with Designs for Small Kitchen Spaces

Many of todays kitchen designs are showcased in larger over-sized kitchens, which make great ideas for those who have large kitchens but just not practical for some of us who dont. What about designs for small kitchen areas? Since we all want a space that provides efficiency and optimum storage for the kitchen here are a few ways to maximize designs for small kitchen spaces.

With any kitchen space you shouldnt have to give up your amenities, just use sensible designs for small kitchen spaces. In most cases it is better to remove anything big and bulky and use small accent pieces to bring out your style. I have also found that in just about any room you can position mirrors or even add an imitation mirror window to the wall and it will automatically make the room seem larger.

Simple enlarging designs for small kitchen areas will start with eliminating anything that is not used in the room at all. Clear all your counter space; remove junk in drawers, or anything else that is not used in the kitchen. When choosing color for your new kitchen designs stay away from dark colors and large prints on towels, curtains, walls, anything that will be showcased.

Designs for Small Kitchen

To maximize kitchen space, create lots of open shelving. Adding shelving on the walls makes use of otherwise wasted storage space. Add some storage bars, hooks, and pot racks. This will make cooking material more convenient and free up cabinet spaces for other items.

As you review designs for small kitchen spaces, keep in mind there are three main areas of the kitchen that need to be spaced to provide maximum use and allow multiple people to be in the area without cramping each other. These three areas are 1) the stove, 2) the refrigerator, and 3) the sink. By choosing a design that allows movement around these areas youll have a much more functional kitchen.

Designs for small kitchen areas should also carefully place lighting. Light is a very important part of making a space feel open. In many cases, just adding some extra light to a room can make a big difference. There are a couple of different ways you can achieve more lighting. One way is to add a window, a skylight, or just hiring an electrician to install more light fixtures in the room. If you are using a low watt bulb, maybe bump it up a notch.

The elaborate designs and modern kitchen utensils and appliances show us how much the kitchen environment has evolved throughout the years. Modern kitchen these days do not look anything like how we used to see in our grandmothers home.

The design of a kitchen, the settings and the appliances vary from one person or family to another. The design will depend on how large the family is, the size of the kitchen, the lifestyle of the family and how much time is spent in the kitchen. Another important thing to consider when designing your kitchen is how much walking or moving space is needed.

Gone are the days when all that mattered about a kitchen was whether a decent meal could be prepared. Todays modern kitchen demands everything be in sync and up to date. The kitchen floor tiles and color need to match those of the cabinets and other built-ins. The colors of the kitchen cabinets need to match the furniture, and all appliances should preferably be of same color, or at least of the same look and feel, so that they will look as one.

All appliances and built-ins should be given due consideration before purchasing. These include cabinets, walls, refrigerators, hoods and vents, countertops, ovens, sinks and faucets, ranges, dishwashers and other accessories. Kitchen cabinets and fittings can either be custom-made, or you can get one of those that are readily available in the market where they bring it in and fix it in your kitchen.

Inexpensive Kitchen Wall Decorating Ideas

Add splash to your kitchen walls without breaking your budget with these inexpensive and unique ideas. Your walls cover a lot of space in the kitchen and you can give it a little redo on a tight budget by being a little bit creative. Whether you have a special theme in mind or just updating your look, these ideas below might be able to get you started

Decorative plates are one of my favorite kitchen wall decorations. Colorful plates are much less expensive than prints or painting and can add pizzaz to your walls. You can hang them on fancy wrought iron hangers that cost about $20.00 each or just buy inexpensive spring type hangers for a couple of bucks. If your kitchen has a special theme, you can get plates that match or compliment the theme. If your kitchen is just a colorful mish mash then you can use colorful plates to accent and add interest. You can group plates with a certain theme like plates with birds on them or plates with cats or even plates with scenes of your hometown. Plates can be bought cheaply at yard sales, consignment stores and flea markets.

Another great decorating idea for your kitchen walls is family photos. You can put them in frames that match your decor and arrange them on the wall. They can fit into any decorating scheme but if your kitchen is vintage, Victorian or french country all the better! Plus they add an interesting nostalgia to the room and you get to actually display them instead of keeping them in a closet!

Wallpaper borders are a great inexpensive way to decorate kitchen walls and they dont take a lot of time or skill to put up. You can even add them in with any of these other kitchen wall decorating ideas for some added zest. Wallpaper borders can be run at the top of the wall, the back splash, or chair rail height. Measure out how much you need and then try rummaging through the bargain bin at the store.

I love to use architectural pieces in decorating and the kitchen walls are no exception! While its true some antique pieces are quite pricey you can still find pieces that might not be too old but still have a nice chippy paint look for less than a fine antique. Try hanging out at the dump or driving around on trash day! Depending on your kitchen decorating scheme, you might want to add some iron grates, wooden columns or fancy metal architectural pieces to your walls. Just hang them up like pictures and they make a unique and unusual display. Some old heating grates in fancy designs or those architectural stars that hang on old buildings might be nice for a country look. You can use wooden pieces from old houses, porch railings or even columns (you can cut them in half lengthwise and make them look like they are holding up the wall!

Probably the least expensive kitchen wall decorating idea is faux painting. This does take some skill but you can usually get free lessons down at your local paint store or Home Depot. Its a good idea to practice on large pieces of cardboard before you take your brush to the walls. You can even tack the cardboard up on the wall and use it to decide if thats what you really want for the walls before you go to all the trouble of painting.

The bathroom is a unique area of decorating, and it is not always easy to keep the same decoratig theme that you have in the rest of the home. What kind of d?cor can a bathroom have? Well, the purposes of the bathroom do not lend themselves easily to setting a decorating theme. Maybe you consider the bathroom is such a utilitarian room that your guests will not even think about how it is decorated. Well, even if they don't, there are certain things that guests do not want to see in a bathroom. One example is the plunger. It is probably a necessary accoutrement for the bathroom, but we don't want to see it right there in front of us. The same theory would apply to any feminine hygiene products. Even the men in your household, never mind the male guests you may have, do not want to have to view ladies intimate items on display in the bathroom.

So these two items bring to mind a most important issue in a bathroom: storage. Even if you don't have a linen closet or some other type of storage in the bathroom area, you can create your own storage with the use of imagination. Wicker baskets, storage cubicles and other such items can keep items that you need in the bathroom at hand, but out of sight. Using colors and accessories with imagination will also make your guests appreciate your decorating taste in the bathroom.

There are many magazines that focus totally on decorating the bathroom and there are websites on decorating and you just have to go the area that treats the topic of bathrooms. Styles, designs, colors, accessories: all of the topics you have to know about to decorate your bathroom are right there online. In addition to looking at pictures of decorating ideas, you will be able to find many articles that will give you great ideas about how to make the bathroom as lovely and inviting a place as the rest of the house.

Kitchen Remodeling 5 Unique Ideas

Unique kitchen remodeling ideas do not have to be out of this world. In the world of designs and styles, people tend to experiment on things just to come up with something unique. The idea is to create unique kitchen remodeling ideas based on existing materials and use them like they had never been used before.

Here's how:

1. Themed concepts

If you want to have unique kitchen remodeling ideas, you can start with themed ideas. Maybe you would want that classical kitchen design back in King Arthur's palace. With this, you need to come up with more wood designs that are based on mahogany or other wood types that depict classical era.

You may also incorporate futuristic theme by using the elements of stainless steel. Kitchen counter tops that are made of stainless can be the first factor to consider.

2. Color combination

One of the factors to consider when coming up with unique kitchen remodeling ideas is trying to combine colors. Most people are afraid on color combination thinking that one color may not harmonize or blend with the other. But that is what the whole idea is all about. It is the contrast that makes it more unique. As far as the contrast is not that absurd or simply unpleasing to the eye, you can combine as many colors as you want.

3. Lighting

Good, remarkable lighting can emphasize a certain design in your kitchen. By providing accent lighting, you can draw attention to your original displays or extraordinary architectural designs. The idea is to focus things that will liven up your kitchen area.

4. Layout

Unique kitchen remodeling ideas can be directly proportionate to the layout of the cabinets and other features in the kitchen. The way you have created the layout will bring out your fresh ideas.

5. Customized cabinets

The Best Kitchen Designs and Floor Plans

The best kitchen designs and floor plans are set up with function, form and style in mind. These three elements of your kitchen design will influence the materials you choose, the positioning of important components, and the amount of money you can expect to spend. It is extremely difficult to bring all three of these elements into perfect balance so be prepared to give some time and effort to the planning stages of your project.

Kitchen designs and floor plans can be simple and practical, elaborate and luxurious, or something in between. Before settling on a final design, spend some time looking at how the options you are considering would fit into your lifestyle and your needs.

Do you have children? Do you have pets? Do you entertain regularly? Do you want a kitchen that is quick and easy to clean? Look at traffic patterns and how people will navigate in and around the kitchen area. Avoid any designs that create bottlenecks or tight spaces, making it difficult to work and function in the kitchen. All of these issues are very important when planning what you final design will be.

Kitchen Designs and Floor Plans

Keep your overall budget in mind when looking at kitchen designs. You probably will not be able to afford every feature and item you really want, so look for ways to compromise whenever possible. For example, would you be happy with a less expensive countertop material if the money you saved could be used to move the sink to a better location in the kitchen? If it is your dream to have all stainless steel appliances, how would you feel about selecting less expensive laminate flooring instead of high end imported tiles? These are the kinds of questions you need to ask yourself and be very clear about the answers so that you can select the best of the kitchen designs and floor plans you have in mind.

All of these issues need to be resolved and planned before you begin working on constructing your kitchen. It is much easier to resolve construction and design issues on paper than it is once you have started working on your project.

Easy And Cheap Kitchen Designs

Whether you are just moving in to a new place or you are trying to update your home decor, you may find yourself faced with a kitchen that needs a new touch. Even more daunting is when you find that you are facing this task while on a particularly tight budget. Kitchen designs can be quite expensive, after all, once you get down to it and add up the many, many little costs which accumulate during the process. And that is not even considering the larger costs!

Luckily, a little bit of creative thinking and design work, you can overcome even some fairly strict financial constraints and still come out with a great kitchen. The trick is to find kitchen designs which you can complete while incorporating existing fixtures with as little alteration as possible.

That may sound like it contradicts itself. After all, if your kitchen designs use things you already have and strive not to do much in the way of changing them, then can it really be considered a new design? It certainly can, and the reasons behind this can be found when you consider the objectives closely. The first objective is to use items and features you already have. This does not necessarily mean things that are currently in your kitchen. This can be something which is in another room entirely, or something which was put into disuse due to redesigning in other areas of your home.

An elegant, beautifully carved wooden wall clock, for instance, may not be appropriate for you living room under a new design, but it can easily be the central piece for a number of different kitchen designs. For instance, dark wood on the clock can inspire the use of dark tones throughout your kitchen. A coat of chocolate brown or deep maroon paint on your kitchen walls can serve to carry over the deep, rich tones of the wood into the rest of the room. Even simply changing the color of a few tings, such as drapes and trim, can be enough if your kitchen already has a dark color scheme.

The second objective is to make as few changes as possible to existing fixtures. This is the real hinging point of inexpensive kitchen designs. This does not mean that you should not make any changes. This simply means that while you are making changes, you should be sure to make every change count. For instance, if your clock from the previous example has gold hands, or even just gold trim, then you should simply consider changing the hardware on your cabinets to be gold in color.

If you have wooden cabinets that are a few shades off of the clock's color, then simply apply a little bit of stain to the cabinets (or, in fact, to the clock) to make the match. You might also want to bring in other items that work into the clocks colors or style, such as other wooden carvings. Now, obviously, this process can apply to kitchen designs which do not revolve around clocks. Simply apply these two objectives to your design, and you are well on your way.

Country Kitchen Design

Country kitchens are very popular whether you live in the country or not. Country kitchen designs can also be contemporary even though they are a more traditional approach to kitchen design. With new modern materials and building techniques the standard of finish that is achievable really is something to be seen.

Country kitchens needn't be made entirely of wood, although this is possible. Using real wood throughout can be an expensive approach, there are many inexpensive real wood derivatives available nowadays. Reclaimed and recycled raw materials with tough heat resistant coatings that are impossible to tell from the real thing. This can leave you with enough money to splash out on other authentic country kitchen materials such as slate work tops and splash backs or even granite or marble.

Many people prefer the more conservative look opting for a real wood look to their kitchen cupboards and worktops. The term Quaker kitchen is something perhaps thought of in europe as an Americanism but this really just refers to the style of joinery and overall finish of the kitchen. A quaker kitchen can be made in oak, cherry beech or indeed any wood that you might desire, the quaker style is achieved with the different details that you add, the cupboard doors or the finals on the top of the cupboards.

There are, as ever many different country kitchen designs on the market, go into any diy center and there are many to choose from. Bespoke kitchen designs are of course more desirable, its always nice to have something individual and different, rather than something mass produced and the same as your neighbours. many carpenters can fit a kitchen kit from a supplier and then add a few choice details to set your kitchen apart from the rest.

You could even attempt to build one yourself, if you have all the right tools and experience in carpentry or construction it could perhaps be a doddle for you. But if like most of us you don't know your spirit level from your router then it is probably better to call in the professionals. It could certainly be less of a headache!
